The garden is so abundant now. I went out with the dogs this evening and picked and picked. The pie garden is bursting with golden raspberries, strawberries, thornless blackberries and rhubarb. Around the corner are tiny purple and champagne grapes and although the blueberries look slightly shriveled they kind of taste like sweet little raisins. The sky was lavender and the crickets were singing in great harmony. There’s a little welcome breeze too. We, the dogs and I, put the old lady horses to bed. It’s still and quiet in the barn except for their rhythmic chewing and an occasional tail swish. As we walked back to the house I heard an owl in the distance. The other night around 3am there were two of them talking in different sounding sentences. What do owls discuss at 3 am….”what shall we yak up for the kids tonight?”
I guess this is my first blog. The website for 4th Quarter Farm is almost up. When it is there will be more life on the farm…..
Thanks for one’s marvelous posting! I truly enjoyed reading
it, you happen to be a great author.I will make sure
to bookmark your blog and may come back later on. I want to encourage you to definitely continue your great posts, have a nice afternoon!
First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thank you!| а
Thank you for your kind words. Usually ideas come to me in the morning. Either on a walk with my dog on in the shower. I think when I’m most relaxed, then my subconscious bubbles up. It’s not like I’m trying,it’s when I’m not. I hope
that helps, I’d love to read your words! ann
